Butterflies and Toddlers

Last year we checked out the butterflies at Frederik Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park for the first time EVER for me. It was so fun! It was amazing to have the butterflies fly so close and even land on some people. This coming from someone who is beyond terrified of bugs. Adam and I decided to pack the kids up on Friday, seeing as I had the day off from babysitting AND the weather was gorgeous, and check them out again.

Not too thrilled to have to wait in line :(

I thought we had a blast the first time, but this second time was even better. Ryenn is walking this time and she was more interactive with things. Last time, she spent the majority of the time in the stroller, just enjoying rolling around. She LOVED the butterflies. She giggled and pointed and kept saying oooh when she would see the butterflies.

Nolan was more excited about the kids area of the park. He did have the fortune of having a butterfly land on his forehead for about a second. I didn't get a picture of it unfortunately. He loved being able to run around and play on all the fun things that were around. He really liked the "tree house" thing.

We ended the trip by visiting the gift shop and letting the kids pick something out. Nolan picked a stuffed skunk (weird, I know) and Ryenn picked out a butterfly clip and a little halo for her head that ended up being a bit too big. We had a great time and I cannot wait to bring them back again this summer for the kids area of the park.
